THE ASTRONAUTS - Competition Coupe
RCA LPM-2858

After the success of Surfin' With The Astronauts and Everything's A-OK in the early 1960s, this Denver based surf-rock band jumped on the next musical wave: car & hot rod songs. But the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean had already claimed that turf and this COMPETITION COUPE album became an Astronauts rarity.

Just check out the songwriting credits:

Little Ford Ragtop
(Roger Christian - Wrote Shut Down & Little Deuce Coupe with Brian Wilson and co-wrote Dead Man's Curve, Ride The Wild Surf and more for Jan and Dean.)

Competition Coupe
(R. Christian. Gary Usher - Co-wrote 409 with Brian Wilson.)

The Hearse - not included on SURFIN' WITH THE ASTRONAUTS, making this "lost" track a must-have for Astronauts fans! Composer Lee Hazelwood also wrote Baja, Movin' & Batman for the SURFIN' WITH THE ASTRONAUTS LP.
